Hotel Friesenhof in Varel

Great hotel, especially if you are traveling with your dog, can only be recommended. Room tidy, breakfast and a la carte food very good and reasonably priced. The space in front of the hotel makes it very nice to sit outside on mild summer evenings. Gladly again.

Friendly staff; the rooms in the Deichgraf unfortunately a bit shabby. Breakfast sufficient, everything there. Good hygiene concept. Adjacent bars (Marktnücke and Emma) absolutely recommendable!

My stay here was very nice. Is friendly staff. I like the wellness area very much! Although a few savings were made here due to the corona. It didn't harm the wonderful ambience. Only the eggs were unfortunately inedible here, but maybe only because I can enjoy the best free-range eggs at home. And the extremely friendly staff would have been happy to explain the place to me, a non-resident individual. Unfortunately, I only found out from a local on the last evening that there is also a small city center here. I had booked and paid for a single room, but was still in a double room in the captain's house. Bathroom with tub and window. The interior design wasn't to my taste, but it was comfortable - that's what counts! ;) a very nice vacation in a nice hotel.

Nice hotel with very nice staff. The restaurant conjures up delicious dishes. We have been coming here regularly for many years. Worth it.

The good thing is, everyone is very nice and helpful ... the room is clean, bright and friendly ... the market is not open at 7 a.m. and not quiet ... at 8 church bells ... Shower, small but it is enough ... watch some TV .... mega bad picture ... for breakfast ... nice service, very small selection ... for the money ...

The rooms in the guest house are quite large, the showers are very small and the water pressure is poor. It can happen that the water is gone when showering and only comes back after 20 seconds with cold and moderate pressure. The breakfast is great, even in Corona times they found a good solution.

Just TOP! Rooms are large, clean, spacious! Breakfast is plentiful and extensive! Dinner in the adjacent Emma is great! Super centrally located in the heart of Varel! I will gladly come again!

We had a nice room and the 3 course half board menu was delicious.

A family business where we like to spend our weekends again and again, and for almost 5 years now. I can't think of a visit where we have experienced something negative. The hotel restaurant is super ? varied and cozy. We continue to be guests of the Friesenhof .

The hotel itself is impressive, the location of course great. Our room (in the captain's house) was not particularly nice but in order; very noisy. Generally it is pretty stupid to have to go to breakfast or to the bar across the street. The latter is great (Irish beer on tap, etc.)

Like the country, so the hotel. Wide areas with a lot of nothing :-) Basically, the hotel is nice, but it is very old. We had the suite ... actually the required space for this title ... with hardly anything in it (see pictures). The dust of the predecessor was visible (there was "plaster me"), the chair completely broken ... unbelievable and really obvious. But since the room service ladies after less than 5 minutes were finished, you can overlook something. The breakfast has what it needs, but not more. When we got up to catch up, the table was half cleared ... as if we had already left. Not very inviting. For vacation I would not book it again, for a stopover it would be fine.

A really great hotel, at a very fair price. In the small town of Varel, between Wilhelmshaven and Delmenhorst, directly on the Jade Bay, this hotel is located in the middle of the city. The hotel consists of the main building and at least one auxiliary building (boathouse). The hotel has 3 restaurants, a sauna and a wellness area. The rooms are adequate and functional and the bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated. The breakfast buffet is extensive and very tastefully arranged. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Ok let's start with the price! It's cheap! But you get what you pay for. The corridor reeked of cigarette smoke and the bed was very uncomfortable. When the neighboring room uses their shower/bathroom a fan starts that sounds like a lawnmower, making it impossible to sleep! The breakfast was ok, but nothing fancy.

Friendly and uncomplicated reception by the staff. Bright and friendly rooms. Price and performance are right. The breakfast buffet is adequate and something for every taste. Coffee is brought to the table separately in a separate thermos flask. Very good sleep comfort due to new mattresses. Come gladly. Very good parking at the hotel

The first impression is nice, the reception, stairs, elevator, corridors give the impression of well-groomed. The room can be picked up somewhat differently. The decor was rather 90's, I would even try the late 80's, but clean. No fragrances from previous guests, which is a good sign of care. However, bathrooms are the object of the greatest dilemma. There is not much space between the wall and the shower, however, there is a toilet seat there, it is not a pleasure to use it. The color of the sink, shower tray and the toilet itself is also reminiscent of old times, mixed feelings. However, the big advantage is fitness, sauna, hot tubs. The whole floor is like a torn from a different fairy tale, much nicer, warm colors, subdued light, plenty of room for everyone. It is worth noting that in the rooms there are ashtrays and no smoke detector, so smoking is allowed. As for the door, we use a simple key on a key ring, not a card with a reader. No air conditioning.
